Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu
Depart from Nairobi very early in the morning heading North via the shoulder of Africa's second largest mountain, Mount Kenya, passing the Equator and proceed to Samburu Game Reserve. We get there in time for lunch at your pre-booked Safari Camp or Lodge. Afternoon game game drive to explore the reserve. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 2: Full Day Samburu Safari
Day spent on safari viewing wildlife in the reserve, appreciating the diverse landscape and variety of animal species. Samburu is part of a lava plain that includes a diverse landscape of thorn scrub, red dirt, dried river beds, broken volcanic rock, steep hills, and rocky outcroppings.
Samburu is home to the uncommon African wildlife like the Grevy’s Zebra, Gerenuk Antelope - standing on hind legs to feed, Somali Ostriches with distinct blue legs and the shy Beisa Oryx and Reticulated Giraffe. Other animals to be seen in the reserve include Elephants, Crocodiles, , Lions and Cheetahs. Samburu is an excellent Safari destination for bird watching. Leopard sighting is a special feature here of this reserve.
Day 3: Samburu to Nairobi
Rise up to an early morning safari game drive. Thereafter return to your safari lodge/camp for breakfast. After breakfast drive back to Nairobi where you arrive in the afternoon.
