This 2 Days Mombasa Safari explores Taita Hills Game Sanctuary - a private game sanctuary separated from the vast Tsavo west only by a road. Taita Hills Game Sanctuary consists plains and woodlands, with typical riverbank vegetation along the water course and is home to over 50 species of mammals and 300 species of birds including the extremely rare Taita Falcon, a bird recorded in early Egyptian hieroglyphics, wildlife include elephant, lion, oryx, lesser kudu, zebra, impala, dik-dik and a wide variety of smaller animals.
Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Mombasa Safari to Taita Hills Game Sanctuary
Leave Mombasa early in the morning drives along the Mombasa – Nairobi highway for almost 3 hours before diverting to Taita Hills Game Sanctuary on the periphery of Tsavo West National Park, begin safari game viewing before having lunch at the Taita Hills Game Lodge. Short rest followed by afternoon game viewing then dinner and overnight at the Salt Lick Lodge
Day 2: Taita Hills Saltlick Game Sanctuary - Mombasa
Early morning game drive then back for breakfast. Mid morning game drive follows after breakfast before driving back to Mombasa arriving in the afternoon.
